I am currently living in Lexington with my husband (Bre) and my son (Mr. Power).
Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
Mr. Power is obsessed with trucks - garbage, semi, mail. He has also realized that we can play some of these on YouTube. I just spent a half hour watching video of garbage men picking up garbage. He was so excited and said “bye” to them each time they moved on. He also cheered. Hilarious.
I just saw my son walking through the house in a Star Wars t-shirt, no diaper, and snow boots. Do I intervene or let him enjoy his freedom while he can??

Pre-nap warm-up
With the recent knockdown of a major wall in our house we are feeling newly inspired to decorate. One of the major decisions was to paint all of the common areas. It was what I called “living in suburban hell beige”. It is now a nice light grey with a few darker grey accent walls. What a difference. Also what a pain considering we have a two story great room and entry way. It will be worth it. I’m just not a beigy person.
Halfway through the chase. The first leg was really tough. We started at 11:15 and the sun was beating down as we ran uphill for 3.5 miles. I wish I could say we then had a downhill but no, more uphill. A total of 7.1 miles and certainly not my best. We had to walk (we had two teams so no one ran alone) but so did most everyone else. We all met up at Makers Mark for another bourbon taste and a stroll through the distillery; the giant barrels of bourbon reminded me of Strange Brew. After all of the runners from our van were done we headed to Fazolis for dinner and then to a hotel for a shower and a brief rest. Round two came around quickly as my partner, Erica and I readied ourselves for our night run. It rocked. Dark, cool, nice wide shoulder to run on. We did our 4.3 miles in 36 minutes redeeming ourselves from earlier. Now each of our runners will knock off their second legs and then it’s on to the hotel for a couple hours’ rest.
