Non-Christians need not apply...(a religious...
I was checking up on Facebook this evening and was quite irritated by a status post of one of my “friends.”
“Samaraitan’s Purse International Relief Urgent: Christian doctors and nurses are urgently needed as the cholera outbreak in Haiti grows. We will cover volunteer expenses, including airfare, for those who can serve during Christmas. If you are...
Modern Life
I have become acutely aware of redundancies, of non-necessities, of things I truly enjoy, and what I want. I have been working on simplifying my life to reflect this. We found we weren’t watching our 100 or so TV channels and didn’t like throwing money at the cable company so we downgraded to the most basic plan which allows us to watch the major networks and a few other random...
Driving Annoyances
Winter is here. You know it kind of happens every year around this time. It gets cold, it snows, maybe sleets. This is Kentucky, not Florida so this is kind of expected. At least by me. Apparently the rest of Kentucky think it lives in The South and though their general attitudes may suggest this, geography does not. I Just Don't Get It
The insensitivity that people show in their attempt to one-up each other never ceases to amaze me. A good friend of mine was recently killed in a very tragic freak accident. He worked as a rep for us so many people in the OR who I work with know him. I had not one, but several people say “I heard that M. died and that you were pretty good friends with him. That is so sad” followed...
So Very Tired
It has been over a year since I have slept through the night. First it was being pregnant and needing to get up and pee in the middle of the night. That started in the first trimester, tapered a bit during the second and then began again as I got bigger. Since Mr. Power was born I have very rarely slept more than 3-4 hours at a time. There actually seemed to be a time around four or five...
Christmas Music
I discovered that Sirius radio has holiday music on 24-7 and that it is “old-timey” music like Sinatra, Mel Torme, Perry Como, and big band versions of the traditional favorites. They also have classical Christmas music. I have been listening to it a lot and singing the songs to Max. This Christmas music reminds me of my grandma and crazy old aunts. Sometimes I am not sure how I...
Oh Happy Day to the EE!
