As is per protocol the UofK ED does a drug screen on everyone involved in a trauma (usually an MVC).  I can tell you that the most frequent drugs people are positive for are alcohol, benzos, and opiates of some kind.  We do see some meth and THC as well but overwhelmingly the majority of folks have some kind of opiate on board.  Sadly I think at least half of Kentucky would test positive and even more depressing is that a good majority (though slowly decreasing) of those people were prescribed benzos and pain meds by their doctor. Now more importantly, let’s make LSD legal again!! (hee hee)
